DINING Frommer
Fong Chong
301 NW Fourth Ave

tel.: 503/220-0235
Cuisine: Chinese
Price Category: Inexpensive

This popular Chinese restaurant is in a grocery store, but don't worry, you won't be eating in the aisles; the restaurant occupies its own room. Although most of the food here is above average, the dim sum is the best in the city. Flag down a passing cart and point to the most appetizing looking little dishes. We really like the shrimp dumplings wrapped in crispy taro. Be careful, though, or you might end up with a plate of chicken feet. At the end of the meal, your bill is calculated by the number of plates you've ordered.

Main courses $6-$12; dim sum items $2.50-$5.Open: Daily 10:30am-10pm; dim sum 10:30am-3pm daily.Reservations not accepted.Credit Cards: MC, V.
