Brought to you by the owners of Portland's popular Chez José restaurants, Chez Grill leans a bit more toward nuevo Mexican or Southwestern flavors. Although the restaurant is at the western end of the Hawthorne district, it looks as if it could have been transported straight from Tucson or Santa Fe. Whatever you do, don't miss the grilled fish tacos; they're the best in town! Also, the grilled prawn enchilada is exquisite, although you only get one enchilada (with rice and beans). Be sure to start a meal with the rough-cut guacamole, and for a strangely sweet appetizer, try the unusual stuffed avocado.
