This little hole-in-the-wall in the trendy Pearl District could easily be overlooked, but once you step inside and see the beautiful prepared foods in the display cases, you'll likely be as hooked as we are. One meal here is enough to have you dreaming about living in the neighborhood so you could get all your meals here. Chef/owner Ken Gordon turns out dishes that would do justice to the best restaurants in town, and on any give day, there are 15 to 20 different entrees such as salmon strudel, Tuscan meatloaf, chicken marsala, and Louisiana gumbo, available. However, you might have trouble getting past the delicious sandwiches, which come with a side of any of more than half a dozen different salads. Desserts are prominently displayed on the countertop, making them very difficult to ignore. Although this is primarily a take-out place, there are a few tables in case you can't wait to dig in.

Plates and sandwiches $5-$8.50.Open: Tues-Sat 11am-8pm, until 9pm on first Thurs of each month.Credit Cards: MC, V.
