The dining room at the Arizona Inn, one of the state's first resorts, has established itself as a consistently excellent restaurant with reasonable prices. The rose-pink stucco pueblo-style buildings are surrounded by neatly manicured gardens that have aged gracefully, and it's romantic to dine in the twinkle lighted courtyard or overlooking the colorful gardens on the bar patio. The menu is not extensive, but every dish, such as Chilean sea bass with prosciutto-wrapped shrimp, is perfectly prepared. Flavors are predominantly Southwestern, with hints of Mediterranean and Asian. Because the Arizona Inn is a class act and doesn't have to work too hard to impress, presentation is artistic but not overly so, and fresh ingredients are emphasized more than sauces. The bouillabaisse is beautiful yet simple and home-made ice cream, such as ginger-cappuccino and mango sorbet, are fabulous. On weekends, you might catch some live music. Lunches include quiche, pastas, salads, and sandwiches.
Main courses $5-$15 at lunch, $20-$28 at dinner.
Open: Mon-Sat 7-10am, 11:30am-2pm, and 6-10pm; Sun 7-10am, 11am-2pm (brunch), and 6-10pm.
