American expatriate Cheri Batson's island hot spot is the best bar on the island. Touristy but fun and sassy, a great place to meet people, it's outfitted in an irrepressible color scheme of hot pink and white. This open-air cafe, serving some 400 meals a night, is really only a roof without walls, and it's not even on a beach. But people flock to it anyway, devouring 18-ounce steaks, burgers (one of the most items), and grilled fresh-fish platters. The clientele covers everybody from rock bands to movie stars, high rollers at the casino to beach bums. Some come for the cheap eats, others for the potent drinks, many to dance and flirt. The bartender's special is a frozen "Straw Hat" made with vodka, coconut, tequila, pineapple and orange juices, and strawberry liqueur. Maybe even one more ingredient, we suspect -- although nobody's talking. There's live music every night beginning at 8pm, and ending around 10:15pm.
