Many other restaurants have occupied this blue-and-white clapboard-sided house that's set on the seaward side of the main road running through Grand-Case. Under its current management, it's one of the most laid-back restaurants in town, with the kind of insouciance you might associate with the French Riviera, and an otherwise charming staff that's sometimes a wee bit distracted. If you happen to just walk into this place, you'll be offered a roster of well-prepared but relatively uncomplicated food. These will include at least three kinds of fish fast-frozen and flown in from the French mainland, including sole, tuna, and hake, each prepared as grills or "in the French style" (à la meunière). Also available at all times are at least three kinds of couscous (fish, vegetarian, and "royal," with merguez sausages, chicken, and lamb). There are also lamb cutlets, pork, beefsteaks, and chicken. Many locals who find this menu too limited phone in their orders a day or two in advance. If you have a hankering for duck with orange sauce, or fresh local fish, it's wise to do likewise. (You might be asked to pay a deposit if your gastronomic demands are too esoteric.)
Main courses 15€-30€.Open: Daily 6-10:30pm.Reservations recommended.Credit Cards: AE, DC, MC, V.
