A quiet, intimate place, this is one of the most appealing, upper-middle-bracket hotels of French St. Martin, in some ways likened to the Esmeralda Resort, to which it's sometimes compared. At the French-Dutch border 10 miles east of Queen Juliana Airport, this hotel is near the Dutch side's Oyster Bay Beach Hotel. The pink bungalows, with a bit of gingerbread, are set in a labyrinth and connected by boardwalks. High on a hill, they command panoramic views, and from the large terraces you can gaze over to St. Barts. The accommodations, which are clustered three to a bungalow, are furnished in white rattan and decorated with local prints, and come with kitchenettes, marble-trimmed full bathrooms with double sinks, large double closets, and many amenities. Each junior suite has two beds and a sofa bed, which makes them perfect for families.
