In the early 1990s, a much larger hotel here split up into three parts after its managers dissolved their partnership. This hotel is one of the three separate entities, and the background explains why it's flanked on either side with two very similar-looking properties. The St.-Tropez des Caraïbes is the best maintained of the three. Don't expect too many hotel-style amenities here, as there's no bar, no restaurant, and very little to do--but with the sweeping sands of Orient Beach at your disposal, you may not care. None of the units has a kitchen, but many bars and restaurants are within a short walk. Seven units lie within each of eight neo-Romanesque buff and pink-colored buildings. Rooms are genuinely appealing, each with bright but soft tones of pink and green, floral upholsteries, and a balcony. The best accommodations, with the highest ceilings and the greatest sense of space, lie on the top (third) floor of each of the eight buildings.
