CURRENCY CONVERTER

Locals swear by the cuisine at Au Gourmet de l'Ile, whose prix-fixe meals are among Paris's best bargains. The setting is beautiful, with a beamed ceiling, walls from the 1400s, and candlelit tables. In the window is a sign emblazoned with AAAAA, which, roughly translated, stands for the Amiable Association of Amateurs of the Authentic Andouillette. These chitterling sausages are soul food to the French. Popular and tasty too are la charbonnée de l'Ile (a savory pork with onions) and stuffed mussels in shallot butter. The prix-fixe menu includes a choice of 15 appetizers, 15 main courses, salad or cheese, and 15 desserts.

Main courses 12€-22€; prix fixe 30€.Open: Wed-Sun noon-2pm; Tues-Sun 7-10:30pm.Reservations required.Credit Cards: MC, V.Métro: Pont Marie.
