SHOPPING: FOOD Frommer
Albert Ménès

One of Paris's most prestigious small-scale purveyors of foodstuffs prides itself on selling only goods that have been picked, processed, and packaged by hand. The 45 producers represented offer sugared almonds, Breton sardines, exotic honeys, terrines, jams, patés, baked goods, and more. It's all esoteric, even by French standards. Ménès prides itself, strangely enough, on being the first food store in France to import both Heinz Ketchup and Kellogg's Corn Flakes, both of which appeared on shelves for the first time here in the 1920s.
