Argenterie de Turenne

Inside, you'll find old-fashioned gentility and masses of silver, both secondhand sterling and plated, much made in France during the 19th and early 20th centuries. The array of trays, water pitchers, cutlery, napkin rings, tumblers, and punchbowls is staggering, but what many visitors find amazing is that congenially battered silver-plated forks and spoons are sold by weight, at the rate of 61€ per kilo. The store lies within the Marais, a short walk from place des Vosges, on a block that's lined with purveyors of other old-fashioned grace notes that include antique glassware and porcelain.
