A branch of the famous Minokichi restaurant first established in Kyoto 280 years ago, this place is designed to resemble a lane in a typical traditional Japanese village, with waitresses in kimono and Japanese music playing in the background to help set the mood. The menu includes Kyo-kaiseki cuisine and typical Kyoto dishes, as well as such Japanese favorites as obento lunch boxes and eel. Set lunches, served daily until 4pm, are especially good bargains, featuring everything from eel to mini-kaiseki.
Set meals ¥3,000-¥12,000; set lunches ¥2,000-¥3,500.
Open: Daily 11:30am-9pm (for last orders; kaiseki last order 8pm).
