If you're hungering for tempura, this restaurant has a sign in English and is easy to find. Located in an old-fashioned part of Kyoto that boasts a number of expensive ryokan, it's a tiny, intimate place with a traditional atmosphere. The tempura counter seats only 12 and offers tempura lunches beginning at ¥2,000 and dinners beginning at ¥6,000. Meals in tatami rooms are more expensive, with tempura lunches beginning at ¥6,000, tempura dinners at ¥12,000, and Kyokaiseki meals costing ¥20,000.
Set dinners ¥6,000-¥20,000 ($54-$180); set lunches ¥2,000-¥6,000 ($18-$54).
Open: Daily 11am-2pm and 5-8:30pm (last order).
