There aren't many restaurants in this vicinity, so this is a good choice for lunch or dinner if you're visiting Sanjusangendo Hall or the Kyoto National Museum. This formal dining hall is small and intimate, overlooking a beautiful garden with a waterfall and pond. There are only set meals at lunch, including a French kaiseki meal (French food prepared with the imagination of kaiseki and eaten with chopsticks). The menu changes with the seasons, but past main dishes have included sautéed chicken and grilled duck with lemon-and-honey sauce.
Main dishes ¥2,700; set dinners ¥6,000-¥12,000; set lunches ¥2,500-¥3,500.
