CURRENCY CONVERTER

Behind the floor-to-ceiling front window, dining at this new hot spot is rather like being in a fishbowl. The cool, crisp lines of Scandinavian design mix with miniature Japanese plants for an upscale Zen ambience. While the look may be trendier-than-thou, the staff's attitude is consistently considerate. The menu is far less austere than the surroundings. Main dishes run the gamut from ostrich tenderloin with lobster orzo and cranberry coulis to orange-poppy-seed-crusted salmon in an apple cider reduction. Even the simplest green salad benefits from dollops of pumpkin seeds and a light dressing that contains a hint of lavender emulsion. The short dessert list includes some inventive pairings, such as delicious apple tart with rosemary ice cream. The wine list is short but contains 10 selections by the glass.

Main courses C$13-$27 (US$9.10-$19).Open: Wed-Fri 11:30am-3:30pm; Sat-Sun 10am-3pm; daily 5:30-10:30pm.Reservations strongly recommended.Credit Cards: AE, DISC, MC, V.Subway: Spadina.
