The open-air Santa María is a clean, gaily decked-out place to sample authentic Mexican food. It's cool and breezy, with a patio dining area that's open on two sides and furnished with leather tables and chairs covered in multicolored cloths. A bowl of frijoles de olla (beans cooked in a clay pot) and an order of beefsteak tacos will fill you up for a low price. You may want to try tortilla soup or enchiladas, or go for one of the specialty grilled U.S.-cut steaks, fajitas, ribs, or grilled seafood, all of which arrive with a baked potato. The restaurant also serves traditional Yucatecan dishes.
