I love this place. Andalé (Spanish for "hurry up") offers incredible high-end fast food for the health-conscious and the just plain hungry. As the long menu explains, this small California chain prides itself on its fresh ingredients and low-cal options. Lard, preservatives, and canned items are eschewed; Andalé favors salad dressings made with double virgin olive oil, whole vegetarian beans (not refried), skinless chicken, salsas and aguas frescas made from fresh fruits and veggies, and mesquite-grilled meats. Add the location (on a sunny shopping stretch), sophisticated decor, full bar, and check-me-out patio seating (complete with corner fireplace), and it's no wonder the good-looking, fitness-fanatic Marina District considers this place home. Cafeteria-style service keeps prices low. Bargain tips: No one can complain about a quarter of a mesquite-roasted chicken with potatoes, salsa, and tortillas for $6.25. If you want to go traditional, stick with the giant burritos or the fantastic $2.95 tacos -- a nibbler's dream.

Most dishes $5.25-$9.50.Open: Mon-Thurs and Sun 11am-10pm; Fri-Sat 11am-10:30pm.Reservations not accepted.Credit Cards: MC, V.Bus: 22, 28, 30, 30X, 43, 76, or 82X.
