Barnes & Noble has a large selection of all kinds of books and music, often at discounted prices. This two-story location opened in 1999 in an increasingly popular retail area on the south side of downtown Denver. There's a particularly good travel section, where you'll find local and regional maps. The store also has a Starbucks Coffee attached.

Other area branches are at 8555 E. Arapahoe Rd., Englewood (tel. 303/796-8851); 960 S. Colorado Blvd., Glendale (tel. 303/691-2998); 8374 S. Willow St., Littleton (tel. 303/706-9660); and 9370 N. Sheridan Blvd., Westminster (tel. 303/708-1735).
