Proving that good things do come in small packages, this tiny corner cafe's home cooking draws nightly hordes of carbo-craving diners who don't seem to mind waiting for a table for upward of an hour, maybe more on weekends. The scent of garlic wafting into the street is guaranteed to kill any vampire, and it makes the wait for a table a bit more torturous. Other choice ingredients include the ripest, freshest tomatoes, the finest olive oil, mozzarella that melts in your mouth, and fish that puts some seafood restaurants to shame. The spicy garlic-and-oil dip that comes with the bread is hard to resist and will likely linger with you for days, like the memory of this fine meal. Though tables are packed in, the atmosphere still manages to be romantic.

Main courses $9-$19; pastas $7-$9.Open: Mon-Thurs noon-midnight, Fri noon-1am, Sat 1pm-1am, Sun 5pm-midnight.Reservations not accepted.Credit Cards: Not accepted.
