NIGHTLIFE: BARS & PUBS Frommer
Forge

The Forge lounge hosts an unusual mix of the uptight and those who wear their clothes too tight. It's also where surgically altered ladies look for their cigar-chomping sugar daddies in a setting that somehow reminds me of Dynasty. Call well in advance if you want to watch the parade of characters from a dinner table. The Forge people also own a ritzier nightclub (which is attached to the club), reminiscent of a cruise-ship lounge, called Jimmy'z (they say it's a private club, but if you dine at the restaurant or are acquainted with someone in the know, you can get in).

432 41st St.Phone: 305/538-8533.No cover (though door policy tends to be a bit exclusive; dress up and you should have no problem).
