NIGHTLIFE: BARS & PUBS Frommer
Lola

Lola redefines the neighborhood bar, striking the perfect balance between chill and chic. This bar, located away from the South Beach mayhem, is a showgirl in her own right--a swank, sultry lounge where people are encouraged to come as they are, leaving the attitude at home. Attracting a mixed crowd of gay, straight, young, and old(er), Lola reinvents itself each night with DJs spinning everything from retro '80s music to hard rock and classic oldies. On Tuesdays, the bar's most popular--and populated--night, it gets mobbed inside and outside, so they tend to keep a crowd at the ropes before letting them all in like cattle.
