For more than a half-century, tourists have been boarding pontoons for leisurely hour-long cruises on Winter Park's beautiful, natural chain of lakes. The ride winds through canals built by loggers at the turn of the 20th century and tree-shaded fern gullies lined with bamboo and lush tropical foliage. You'll see lakeside mansions, pristine beaches, cypress swamps, dozens of marsh birds, and maybe an American bald eagle. The captain entertains you with stories, some of which are fact and some of which are fable. It's a delightful, laid-back trip and tours are held year-round.
