NIGHTLIFE: THE CLUB & MUSIC SCENE Frommer
Dante's Down the Hatch

This jazz supper club is the realm of Dante Stephensen, who mans the decks of this well-rigged schooner, a fantasy 18th-century ship (actually afloat in murky waters) in a colorful seaport village. It's a mix of antiques and nautical kitsch. There are many intimate seating areas, but the most romantic spot is in semi-enclosed private "cabins" on the lower deck, where a trio plays traditional jazz. Earlier in the evening, classical folk guitarists perform on the "wharf," and weekend nights, a solo pianist plays on the ship prior to the show. If you wish to have dinner during the show, the specialty is fondue, available by special reservation only.

3380 Peachtree Rd. NE.Phone: 404/266-1600.Cover $6 for seating on the jazz ship; free on the wharf.MARTA: Buckhead.
