White columns dominate the airy atmosphere of the second-floor lobby, which is outfitted with tropical plants, rattan furniture, and big, bold artwork. The newly renovated rooms are big and comfortable, all with huge closets, roomy bathrooms, and plenty of amenities (refrigerator, iron, hair dryer, safe, coffeemaker), plus a spacious lanai; room prices are entirely dependent on the view. Rooms on the top four floors are part of the Voyager Club, where guests have the use of the private lounge serving continental breakfast and complimentary pupus in the evening.

Dining/Diversions: The beachfront Dukes Canoe Club serves great island-style seafood and steaks, complemented by Hawaiian entertainment and an extended menu of tropical cocktails; Monterey Bay Canners and Chucks Steakhouse are both popular places for seafood and steaks. Other choices include a "Cheers"-like pub and deli, a casual healthy-foods place, and a snack shop on the beach. The talented Society of Seven singers perform in the showroom.
