It's funky and quirky and claims legions of fans for its authentic Hawaiian plates. Lunch and dinner specials include kalua pig, laulau, lomi salmon, fried whole akule (big-eyed scad, hooked, not netted), and other Hawaiian dishes. Saimin and wonton mein are the other favorites at this tiny diner, where steaming dishes and perspiring faces are cooled by electric fans whirring over Formica tables. Although the Aloha Diner may intimidate the uninitiated, it's pure comfort for lovers of Hawaiian food.
