Bali Hai departs from Port Allen instead of the airport at Lihue, closer to Waimea Canyon and the Na Pali Coast. They fly 4-passenger Bell Jet Ranger craft, which means someone gets the dreaded middle seat. But the tour operator disagrees: "Contrary to what you may think, passengers sitting in the single middle seat on our aircraft have the advantage of viewing scenery on both sides." As with all helicopter operators, seating assignment is determined by the aircraft's weight and balance to ensure the safest distribution of weight throughout the aircraft.
