This was one of the first upscale restaurants to venture into the Pearl District, and it remains a popular place with its contemporary decor and new Southern and Caribbean food. A barely noticeable entryway leads into the cavernous converted warehouse space. which is softened and romanticized with indirect lighting and oversize booths. Sounds of conversation and music blend and bounce around the walls, and it's hard not to join in the convivial atmosphere. Now, if the words "Southern food" have you thinking collard greens and grits, think again. This is new Southern. The catfish fillets covered in crushed pecans are served with chipotle-flavored polenta cakes, and the grilled pork tenderloin comes with lemon-grass risotto cakes.
Main courses $14-$19.
Open: Mon-Sat 11:30am-3pm and 6-10:30pm. Lounge menu served between lunch and dinner and from kitchen close until midnight.
Reservations recommended.
