This is funky Hawthorne Boulevard's most upscale restaurant, yet is still more of a casual neighborhood cafe. Every meal here is carefully and imaginatively prepared using fresh Northwest ingredients, and consequently, flavors change considerably with the seasons. A recent spring menu included chicken breast Provençal with kalamata olives and roasted garlic, and spinach and feta cheese ravioli. Desserts are a mainstay of Bread and Ink's loyal patrons, so don't pass them by. The Yiddish Sunday brunch is one of the most filling in the city.
Main dishes lunch $6-$9, dinner $12-$20; Sun brunch $15 or ala carte.
Open: Mon-Thurs 7am-9pm, Fri 7am-10:30pm, Sat 8am-10:30pm, Sun 9am-2pm and 5-9:30pm.
