Throughout the Mercado are restaurants and booths where you can savor traditional favorites such as paila marina, a seafood stew cooked with cilantro, ceviche, fish cooked in lemon juice, or the much-adored abalone loco. It must be said that the food quality is better at other seafood restaurants; what you're here for is the atmosphere. The best-known, easiest to find, and most expensive restaurant here is Donde Augusto; however, several smaller and more economical outfits sit just at the edge of the central market.
Main course prices vary.Open: Sun-Thurs 6am-4pm; Fri 6am-8pm; Sat 6am-6pm.Credit Cards: AE, DC, MC, V.Metro: Cal y Canto.
