This restaurant is a classic -- I always recommend it to diners seeking traditional Chilean food and an old-world ambience. The Picada started out as that: a picada, or restaurant that serves inexpensive Chilean snacks, but it soon grew into a full-service restaurant. In a handsome antique home, you'll find typical Chilean cuisine and wild game entrees such as venison, boar and pheasant. The uniqueness of this establishment draws politicians and heavyweight businessmen at lunch, and families on weekends. It is a great place to people-watch. It's close to the Alameda, but on an old, somewhat shabby street, so it's best to take a cab.
Main courses $7-$12.Open: Mon-Sat noon-4pm and 7pm-midnight.Reservations recommended.Credit Cards: AE, DC, MC, V.
