This tranquil hotel complex is one of our favorites because of its elegant, yet traditional, Thai atmosphere. The public spaces are decorated with local handicrafts, and the professional staff wears intricately embroidered costumes. The Large, balconied guestrooms are elaborately adorned with Burmese tapestries and carved wood accents, and the bathrooms are plush. The posh Nantawan Arcade, across the street, has some of the city's best shops. Dining/Diversions: The Thong Kwow is a handsome teak restaurant serving a hearty lunch buffet and international cuisine by candlelight. The moderately priced coffee shop has a ceiling covered with painted umbrellas from nearby Bo Sang.
Amenities: 24-hour room service, concierge, limousine service, baby-sitting (with notice), laundry service. Two swimming pools (one Olympic-size, open to the public for 100B), tennis courts, jogging track, shopping arcade.
