In this elegant restaurant, the hand-painted beams and corbels, hand-blown Mexican glass, and Spanish tile are set off by the gentle guitar music playing in the background. Chef Bill White creates dishes with a distinctive flair, importing items such as fresh seafood from Florida, truffles from France, and produce from California. His imaginative combinations of flavors result in entrees such as Dungeness crab-stuffed grouper, cooked in a banana leaf and served with jicama cucumber salsa; and crown roast of ribs with chipotle marinade stuffed with garlic mashed potatoes. Appetizers include goat-cheese chile relleno rolled in crushed pumpkin seeds and served with green chile salsa. Full liquor service is available.

Main courses $18-$28. Open: Winter daily 5-10pm; summer Wed-Sun 5-9pm. Closed several weeks in Nov and May. Credit Cards: AE, DISC, MC, V. Main St. Trolley.
