Downtown--Your choices here range from the ultra-elegant City Grill to the world's largest drive-in.
Midtown--Midtown is becoming a hotbed of development, with new businesses, apartments, and restaurants springing up constantly. This is the theater district, and several restaurants in this part of town are good pre-theater choices.
Buckhead--Buckhead contains most of Atlanta's posh dining choices. Keep in mind that this is the area to dine, so plan in advance where you might like to go, so you can get your reservations made in time for your trip.
Virginia-Highland/Inman Park--Make a meal in this charming district the occasion to see a non-touristy part of Atlanta. Come a little early, so you can browse in the area's great little shops and galleries.
East Atlanta--East Atlanta is a little bit out of the loop for most tourists, but the emerging commercial area around Flat Shoals and Glenwood avenues is worth a trip if you're looking for a nontouristy scene that's a little adventuresome. There are several shops, a coffeehouse, a couple of bars, a pizza parlor (great pies), and a handful of restaurants. Two of the best are listed here. East Atlanta is not hard to find, and it's not too far from Turner Field, the zoo, and the Cyclorama.
