Getting to Know: Neighborhoods in Brief Frommer
Northwest/Nob Hill

Located along Northwest 23rd and Northwest 21st avenues, this is Portland's most fashionable neighborhood. Here you'll find many of the city's most talked-about restaurants (mostly along NW 21st Avenue), as well as lots of cafes, boutiques, and ever more national chain stores such as the Gap and Pottery Barn. Surrounding the two main business streets of the neighborhood are blocks of restored Victorian homes on shady tree-lined streets. This is where you'll find the city's liveliest street scene.
