Allard-Pierson Museum
The archaeological collection of the University of Amsterdam is permanently on display here, although temporary and visiting exhibitions are more likely to have truly memorable pieces. In the recently installed Egyptian department there's a model of the Pyramid of Cheops at Giza, as well as mummies and funerary objects. Ancient Greece, Rome, and Etruria are among the best represented cultures, in marble, pottery, sculpture, glassware, jewelry, coins, and everyday objects.
