Museum Willet-Holthuysen
This museum offers another rare opportunity to visit an elegant 17th-century canal house. This particular house was built in 1687 and was renovated several times before its last inhabitant gave the house and its contents to the city of Amsterdam in 1889. Among the most interesting rooms are the Victorian-era bedroom on the second floor, a large reception room with tapestry wall panels, and the 18th-century basement kitchen that's still so completely furnished and functional you could swear the cook had merely stepped out to go shopping.
