Introduction: The Best Mountain Views for Non-Trekkers Frommer
From the Everest Mountain Flight: Maybe you don't have the time to trek to the Everest region, or maybe trekking just isn't your idea of a good time. Whatever the reason, if you aren't going to see Mount Everest from the ground, you can still see it through the window of a plane.

From Nagarkot: Although you can see a few Himalayan peaks from Kathmandu, for a truly memorable panorama try spending the night at this collection of lodges on a ridgetop at the eastern edge of the Kathmandu Valley. You can see for miles and miles and miles, and from a nearby viewing tower, you can see all the way to Everest.

From Dhulikhel: The view from this village on the rim of the Kathmandu Valley is almost identical to that from Nagarkot, which is actually visible from Dhulikhel.

From Pokhara: Be sure to stock up on Tiger Balm before going to Pokhara. You'll need it for the sore neck you'll get staring up at Machhapuchhare and the Annapurnas. And whatever you do, don't sleep through dawn any morn-ing you're here; the morning light show on the Himalayas is splendid.

From an Annapurna Flight: While the Annapurna massif and adjacent Machhapuchhare aren't as well known as Mount Everest, they are certainly just as impressive. If you want to get a close-up view of these peaks without breaking a sweat try this mountain flight.
