Introduction: The Hotels with the Best Views Frommer
The Everest Hotel (Kathmandu; tel. 977/1-488100): From the upper floors of this seven-story hotel, there are good mountain views to the north. If you get a room on a lower floor, head up to one of the rooftop restaurants.

Hotel Himalaya (Patan; tel. 997/1-523900): Located on a hill between Kathmandu and Patan's Durbar Square, this hotel has a good view over the rooftops of Kathmandu to the distant Himalayas. You can take in the view from the dining room upstairs from the lobby, too.

Club Himalaya Nagarkot Resort (Nagarkot; tel. 977/1-290868): This luxurious hotel is perched on a ridge above the Kathmandu Valley and offers not only the best mountain views in the area, but also the only indoor pool in Nepal.

Tiger Tops Pokhara Village (Pokhara; tel. 977/1-411225): Set on a high ridge about 30 minutes east of Pokhara, this rustic lodge is built to resemble a hill village and has hot tubs, as well as excellent views.

Fish Tail Lodge (Pokhara; tel. 977/61-20071): This lodge sits on the shore of Phewa Lake, is tucked up against a forest preserve, and is reachable only by a hand-pulled raft or rowboat. With its memorable views of the Himalayas, it was long the best hotel in Pokhara. Now there are more luxurious hotels in town, but none has the adventurous feel of Fish Tail Lodge.

Hotel Everest View (Shyangboche; tel. 977/1-224854): Coffee, tea, or oxygen? Those are the basic refreshments at this 13,000-foot hotel on a ridge only a few miles from Mount Everest. Though it costs a small fortune to stay here, if you want to get close to The Mountain and still be sitting in the lap of luxury (well sort of), this is your only choice.
