From late November to the end of January, this small local company also offers unique float trips on the Squamish River to see the large concentration of bald eagles up close. Rockwood Adventures (tel. 888/236-6606 or 604/980-7749; www.rockwoodadventures.com) has guided walks of the North Shore rainforest, complete with a trained naturalist and a gourmet lunch. Tours cover Capilano Canyon, or Lighthouse Park, and start at C$70 (US$53) for a half-day, including snack and drink, or C$130 (US$98) for a full-day trip to Bowen Island, including transportation, guide, and lunch. Seniors and children's discounts available.
