Set in the Great Smoky Mountains of North Carolina, this international festival provides an opportunity to learn about different cultures through music and dance.
 The festival hosts 400 folk dancers and musicians from 11 countries. Musicians play hand-made musical instruments as dancers in colorful native costumes step to the beats. On the last weekend of the festival, Waynesville's Main Street becomes an international market with 100 craft and food vendors. The event also features an opening parade of nations and a special candlelight closing ceremony with all nations joining in a special dance. Programs are held in Waynesville, Maggie Valley, and surrounding communities.•
