Attractions: Parque Forestal Frommer

This slender, well-manicured park, built in 1900 and lined with rows of native and imported trees, skirts the perimeter of the Río Mapocho from Vicuña Mackenna at the Metro station Baquedano to its terminus at the Mapocho station. The winding path takes walkers past several great attractions, and makes for a pleasant 1- to 2-hour stroll, especially on a sunny afternoon when the air is clear. If you plan to walk the entire park, try to finish at the Mercado Central for lunch.
