Huis ten Bosch Palace
When Queen Juliana abdicated the Dutch throne in 1980, her daughter, Queen Beatrix, moved her family and the official royal residence to the Paleis Huis ten Bosch, the "House in the Woods" Palace in the beautiful Haagse Bos. For many years, this palace was a summer residence for the royal families. Originally it was a small, rather plain structure consisting of several rooms opening from a domed central hall, but Prince Willem IV added the two large side wings in the 1700s. The palace can be only viewed from the park, not entered.
