The Importance of Comfortable Clothes

If you're a woman traveling on business, it's important to to dress for success. But be sure to bring some casual clothing, too, even if you don't anticipate a lot of free time. If you never change out of your business clothes, you'll never feel as though you've left work. This can be demoralizing over the course of a whole trip.

  • Also, even a stroll down to a local cafe could be excruciating if all you have to wear is high heels. (Be sure to bring bandages and moleskin, in case of blisters.)

  • Think of the local weather, too. That black suit you can wear year-round in San Francisco could be murder in Houston in the summer, and the skirt-and-light-jacket combo you love at home might not stand up to a London fog.
